You could start the recon birds in the air - but it might be best to have the QRF on the ground, since it's easier on comms / planning (for the SLs and their squads).darkChozo wrote:how bad of an idea is it to start player helos in the air? Might be a way to get the recon started as fast as possible.

I'm an old-timer from the OFP days (I even mourned the Red Hammer campaign) and I'm looking forward finally playing this in proper coop. I should be available most weekdays.

You did. IIRC we took no losses before the beginning of our ill-fated lift.Eagle_Eye wrote:I think it did right? Prior to take off we had no casualties anyway, or am I wrong?

Re: Christmas Challenge 2015
First, what's the deadline? January 2nd (UK) Second, where is the Aziz character model? Aziz is not a specific model - he's an idea. Use your imagination ;) Avoiding any manual scripting at all may be impossible for Yours Truly (it does limit some of the fun for me), but I'll do my best. Resist the...

... so the CO would have to strike the moment a camp is spotted, and keep a contingent troops on hand for when the next one is found. That's pretty much what I had in mind when I termed the infantry 'QRF'- each time a camp is found, a squad would be sent off. The CO might even pause the recon until...

...or I could be seconds away from termination relocation... :commissar: Actually, no, you're not. This is a nice idea. Let me lay down a tough challenge. Make a coop mission that features: The FIA platoon from the FA mission template, with attachments and technicals at your discretion An attack on...

Re: fa3_c69_chain_lightning
Like Uprising , I wanted to think about this mission for a few days before posting, because whilst I struggled with it - I liked the ambition. Because where this mission could really shine is as the basis for a JO. :coolbert: In the context of a main session mission, my concern with Chain Lightning ...

Re: fa3_c52_uprising
I struggled with this one, and having thought about it for a few days, for me it's about 'credibility'. Although crate-worship is definitely not something the Party would encourage, the concept of a mission where our equipment/fire-power increases over time is something different (and not unwelcome)...

Re: fa3_c50_counter_espionage
What this mission demonstrates is that if you are going to write a sequential, multi-objective mission, make object #1 something that the platoon could reasonably be expected to accomplish with zero casualties if 'done right'.

Re: [Sun] 06 Dec 2015 (...BEEPBEEPBEEPBEEP...)
I want to point out that around 15 seconds after Alpha's helo hit the power lines, I experienced a real life power-cut at home (which is why comrade Ferrard Carson had to assume command mid-way through the mission). Coincidence? You decide ...
