Preping for Arma 3

Post by Nothun »

The Idea:

Although everyone can do it in the Editor of Arma 3 or the like, I would like to point out a few "Training" missions that are usefull to prepare for our invasion into Arma 3 territory. :hist101: Most controls are the same as A2, but with the new stance system and the like, A3 also has different behaviour for Helicopters and Vehicles.
Placing a Helo in the Editor and flying around Altis can get dull at some point, so I will list some missions from Armaholic that allow "training" while getting used to the controls, and being diverse. :P
I would also like to point out Mods that will come in handy once we go live, although I think going "live" with A3 regular sessions is still a way to go, since we can't expect everyone to buy A3 immediatly.

SP Training Missions

Piloting:

http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=19906 The Hell Heli, simulate tailrotor loss or engine failure (random or forced via action menu)

http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=21283 Codename Charon, constant feed of randomly generated landing sites and transportation of friendly's, with constantly spawning enemys. (Fly till you get shot)
It has some scripts errors which I partially fixed, and I also extracted the .pbo to create the same mission with the other transport Helo's. PM me to get the .pbo's of those.

Soldier and movement:

http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=21481 Cilerk's Killhouse - Practice some CQB! moving indoors has been greatly altered to A2, get to Grips with movement.

http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=21816 Dynamic Universal War System - Simulated random war, it always put's you in random situations, puppeteer training is also possible.

Clientside Mods

http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=18767 Community Base Addons - needed for your mods!

https://dev-heaven.net/projects/sthud/f ... 2Cfilename the good old St_HUD (top one is latest)

With these, your switchover to A3 is easy, and getting used to it will be fast. so if you are up to some offline trainig sessions, this is the way to go.

With pleasure,
Nothun
