Altis is out, dev branch exploration server is up!

Post by harakka »

The Arma 3 main island, Altis, is now playable on the developmen branch. Thanks BI!
There is also a FA Arma 3 dev branch server up, with a mission on it suitable for exploring Altis. You can find the server by filtering for "Folk ARPS". Password is freedom as usual.

Go forth and explore, and post your cool Altis findings! Preferably with coordinates.

Edit: also, thanks for Head for helping set up the exploration mission!
Me and him, we're from different ancient tribes. Now we're both almost extinct. Sometimes you gotta stick with the ancient ways, the old school ways. I know you understand me.

While visiting Syrta, I decided to take a little stroll. Since it started raining, I took shelter in a mountain shrine.

Since there was nothing interesting to me, I soon took off, though.

Bul later on, I found an airsoft/paintball battlefield compound. (Charkia, storage area)

I want to open it so badly... (NE from Pyrgos)

I'll have to check out the server.

Short, first impressions of the terrain: A fantastic change from Takistan. I am, in all honesty, a bit bored of valley crawls, and Altis looks just the part to mix it all up (especially some of the hilly areas to the NW). I will miss some of the dense forests of Chernarus, though.

I took a bunch of random snapshots from the editor:

I should have noted coordinates, too. Ooops.

Awesome stuff. Has the password changed from the A2 server? ("ru....")?

Edit: NM, it's the same as the Teamspeak server :)

Some weird stuff is going on south eastern Altis.
If you travel NE from Mazi UFO crash site (don't be fooled by buoy-ish looks of them), you'll get to Agia Pelagia church.

It look quite normal, but then:

But if you travel further NE, after going uphill you'll get to forgotten military outpost.

Main spot of the outpost is this vault:

Could it be, that Greek Extraterrestrial Affairs Agency still keeps bodies of buoy-like ufos crew in this underground complex?
