Missions:
  • Citadel
  • Swept II
  • Idiots SE
  • Inter IV (Ifestiona)
After-Party:
  • Racethunder XL (comrade Kefirz wins)
There really was a World Cup Final being played tonight (Germany eventually beat Messi 1-0, but will never be as cool as he is); nevertheless, 28 comrades (including our friends from 1Tac) sacrificed sporting spectacle to continue the struggle for a socialist agrarian utopia. The Politburo salutes these dedicated souls, and quietly makes a list of absent comrades.

The opening mission was newly updated coop, Citadel. Once again we employed wave respawn, the initial force of a fully mechanised Bravo and TNK1 later reinforced by a full mechanised Charlie. By reinforced, I mean of course, the battered survivors of the initial assault watched in horror as Charlie's fully-laden IFVs crested and cooked-up within seconds of each other. To prevent an MBT and IFV (#3) falling into the hands of the enemy, the Party authorised a rapid relocation. Hmmm.

Next we relocated to the foggy, far south of Altis for Swept II, this time played as an asymmetric adversarial. Comrade CO Aquarius set up a grand ambush for the CSAT sweeping forces ... which they somehow managed to waltz right through (or past?), unscathed and unnoticed. So BLUFOR turned around and headed eastwards, towards the blocking force, along the northern edge of the valley. As the ridge neared its end, a fire-fight developed around the military outpost: initially it was BLUFOR against the blocking force, but soon CSAT troops were involved. Comrade BeforeLife absolutely dominating from the top of the outpost tower, whilst his comrades hit the beleaguered BLUFOR troops from the south. Nobody made it to the boats.

Comrade Aquarius, undeterred by the loss of his platoon in the previous mission, stepped up to lead us all in Idiots, a mission in which you have to be thankful for every man that managed to deploy his chute in time. We only lost one person to 'high-speed landing', and then split off into two squad-based forces tackling the north and south of the AO. Stealthiness wasn't maintained for as long as we'd hoped, and soon an enemy QRF in three helicopters was touching down to our east, south and west. Gutsy fighting and constant movement meant that although we took significant losses, all three target vehicles were located and destroyed.

Finally, in 6v6 a round of Inter IV (Ifestiona), comrade Fluffeh demonstrated the awesome power of suppressive fire with a distant MMG, and comrade Pro was just ... pro.

:jihad:

As ever, please post your thoughts, feedback, screenshots and video here - comrade YouTube Hero SuperU's FA doesn't just produce our video idents, but provides leadership and guidance to propaganda artists. We also have a new YouTube channel that he manages so if you have any content you think should feature then let him know and he will sort you out, for more info check out this thread!; more guidance on video editing for Folk ARPS is provided by comrade Ferrard Carson. Posts in the AAR threads really help us (the hosts and mission makers), both with understanding how we can improve the experiences, and showing potential comrades what our sessions are like.

Had a great time tonight, especially in Bravo 2 (Always the best squad and fireteam) on the mission Idiots SE, probably the first time I've managed multiple kills and felt generally useful. I realise this was largely down to the experience and excellent play of fellow Bravo 2ers, Fluffeh and Dan. I repaid Fluffeh by bravely shooting him in the back at one point, though in my defence he did stand up rather quickly. :-)
Waiting in ambush behind that building as the chopper came to drop off troops right on our position was an incredible moment, and wiping out the enemy with no casualties was great.

Also,I took video of Inter IV. I'm completely without any video editing skills, so here it is unabridged:

Do you mean nametags in the replay view? How do I do that?
Also, if anyone could point me to an easy to use and ideally free bit of video editing software that isn't Microsoft movie maker, that would be awesome!

No, I mean that when you are in spectator mode, in the upper right corner there is a menu where you can enable tags and player names, it makes it easier to keep track of people.
