We started with an amphibious attack on some missile batteries. This included making short work of a coastal compound, making a short boat trip before running away from a bigger and angrier boat, walking carefully around mines that we could not blow up with anything other than our bodies, getting smacked by several HMGs, and finally scavenging for ammo and FAKs before finally escaping to safety.
Next we went on a march up Malden's east coast. Our movement progressed slowly but steadily, until eventually the enemy killed our IFV and sent two or three of their own IFVs (plus a company or so of infantry) in our direction. We were trapped in a small ravine, and they literally shot us like fish in a barrel...
Finally, we attempted some bad dudes helicopter assassination jobs. Early signs that this would go poorly included a fuel leak before we could reach our first LZ, where our helo made an emergency landing and received some local hospitality. Once we got into the objective area proper we advanced directly into an unplanned L-shaped ambush by CSAT and got thoroughly rinsed. Two lucky souls, Palmzia and Ciaran, managed to slip past our initial attackers and snuck into the target compound where they eliminated our first target. They didn't make it out... no one did, not even our pilots...
