This mod, by the same author, reduces grass' FPS impact somewhat, without making it any easier to see who's lying in it.

Just mention that you're new to the game in Teamspeak when the session starts, and don't be afraid to ask your fireteam members questions once a mission starts. We are always happy to help people new to the game!

TrackIR is a commercial product, FreeTrack is a free, do-it-yourself solution, as is FaceTrackNoIR. Arma 2 (and 3) supports all of these.

New version of FA_stance is out, with support for the new left and right prone stances, and V2 signatures. Link is in the first post.

The Saturday thing isn't currently very "official", so I wouldn't have any problems seeing this happen on a Saturday.

Depends on the lighting conditions. Install FacetrackNoIR and find out, at least it's simple to test. You'll need the CL-Eye driver for the PS3 Eye.
