Re: [Tue] 20 Jan (The UGV in front please!)

Beachfront Property seems to work all right, i might want to redo the defense mcguffin a bit, but we'll see. Its surprising how often attackfor wins this one though... There are types of missions where I don't mind if I lose in the end, for instance defense missions. I'd still be likely most of the...

Re: [Tue] 20 Jan (The UGV in front please!)

After a long absence I was finally able to join a session again, at least for the first two missions. I wasn't a big fan of Routine - in general, I'm not too keen on missions where I end up getting killed by an enemy I haven't even seen yet, but that may well be the luck of the draw, the particular ...

Re: Express yourself!

The main reason why I join so rarely is RL - less of the work kind than of the married life variety. Seeing how I barely managed half a dozen regular sessions over the last year, my take on this won't be all that relevant, since even if things changed I wouldn't be around all that more often. For th...

Re: IL-2 newbie

Cool, thanks! I'd read about that mission pack, but there are so many it's difficult to know where to start. All things considered, though, while IL-2 fascinates me and I'd like to get into it, the thing that might finally make me move on to other games is that it's really, really bad at giving me f...

Re: IL-2 newbie

Cool, thanks! What also helped a lot: updating to the most recent version of the HSFX mod (which also helped with the occasional CTDs I was getting). It turns out that in some missions either the map or my placement on it was totally off, and possibly some of the physics as well; where before I star...

Re: IL-2 newbie

Cool, thanks. I'll have to practice this the way it is so it'll start making sense in my head, both for planes and helicopters. Also, it is embarrassing how bad I currently am at taxiing. Put me on the runway and I can take off and land okay, but anything more complex than that? No, that's not quite...

Re: IL-2 newbie

Sorry to be hogging this thread, but I've got a question for the comrades in general and for @audiox in particular: 1) I've now got the Saitek Pro Rudder Pedals, but I'm not sure I've set them up right. If I go forward on the right pedal and backwards on the left, should that change the rudder so I ...

Re: IL-2 newbie

P.S.: I went and ordered myself a set of Saitek rudders as an early Christmas present. Now look what you've done, IL-2 ! Will have to read up a bit on what sort of control setups work best with the number of buttons and axes I'll have at my disposal. Also, very much looking forward to Elite: Dangero...

Re: IL-2 newbie

P.S.: I think the issue of trimming is still somewhat nebulous to me - I understand what it does but not necessarily when and how to use it - but I guess that can wait until I've become more comfortable with more basic things.
