[Sun] 22 May 2016 (Bar-B-Q & Beers)

Post by AJAX »

NEARLY 40 Comrades joined us today for a splendid time in the Armaverse.
We assaulted a really unfreindly town.
Then had a battle over some beers and there where no beers!!!
Got to fly around for a bit and clean up the mess left by an attack heli.
Abruptly ended the enemies hilltop bar-b-q.
We tried our best to survive in Frini, and made it!!!
Then we ended the day with the bar-b-q that we raided earlier. Yum!

Before I forget it, I just wanted to flag that I thought the selection of terrain in Beer Run was really awesome. Possibly because it was combined with .556 weapons, I felt like this was one of the few adversarial missions where you can see the enemy - exchange fire - and not be certain of an outcome every time. This happened in two contexts for me during the mission: first, when engaging an enemy FT that was across the 'death bowl' from us, but at a similar elevation; and later when we were in the dense brush of the bowl itself, fighting at almost point-blank range. Really nice work.

Cloudline is always a nice reversal of weekend warriors.
Beer run went tragically buggy, but was a tense firefight, and I can only echo fer's comments. (I will not apologise having the indfor sniper team blown into little pieces with a 250lb bomb.)
overrun . MAT got eaten by a strider. was not pretty.

Good to see some new faces, really good to see those new faces stepping up to leadership slots and all in all, a good session.

PS, I thought the armour workshop went pretty well. Any comments, thoughts, opinions and questions would be very welcome.

Didn't I write Cloudline before someone wrote Weekend Warriors? Also, we never used to be as good at the assault! Must be made harder ...
