A glorious 18 people took part in many a successful mission this evening, both victorious and the other. Thanks to everyone who joined us and made the event all the better for their presence. I would also add that witnessing the assault on the lumber yard in RLM Part 4 was a thing of coordinated beauty.

Runlist:
  • Hot Fuzz [Co-op]
  • Compound Interest [Co-op]
  • RLM Part 4 [Co-op]
  • Cornered [Co-op]
  • RLM Part 2 [Co-op]
  • Helicopters [Adv]
Remember to check out our lovely audio-visual information registry over at this here place!

As well as that there is of course our good friend theR3 Mission Replay Sysetm, which knows if you've been bad or if you've been nice. The recordings themselves are really freaking neat-o and demonstrate just how easy it is not to see someone wearing camouflage.

There is also the permanently existent Leadership Programme which is just a fancy way of saying that if you want to, you can contact one of the hosts so we can enable one of your fun ideas. That is, as long as your idea of fun is leading a particular mission in a particular way.

And if you want to be recognizably folk-y and have the little tractor on your shoulder or on the side of your tank then you can sign up on the squad tag whotsit today! It's totally free!

Lovely session. Slight script error in RLM2, but RLM4 was great. Cornered's a lovely concept, too - I really enjoy these variations on our [adv] missions (cf. stop-the-helo-from-picking-up-escapees), and am really curious to see what more missionmakers will come up with.
Lovely community to play with, too. Proud member of the [FA] server group since somewhere in the middle of one of the missions c:

Compound Interest (Autorifleman..?)

I... honestly don't remember much of this. Someone got shot, we shot some dudes, hey. But we won \o/

RLM Part 4 (Bravo 1 AT man)

We attacked a cliff! With a 5 man team.
Then CO got eaten by a rock.
Then someone fell down a rock.
Then someone else fell down a rock and died.
Then the first person magically un-fell from the rock.. but they got shot.
Yet once again, the trusty stovepipe demonstrates its worth - followed up by skillful rifle fire we took out not one, but two heavily armed boats! Hooray.

Cornered (Mortar commander)

Having skilfully ensured my FTL's survival in the previous mission, we were rewarded with a mortar! I like toys, okay?
We had a lot of fun shooting it. Had less fun getting shot at, but we did pretty decently I'd say. Until we died and we turned into terrorists ourselves, somehow.

RLM Part 2 (A1 Autorifleman)

Towers exposed on all sides to the surrounding countryside may make great vantage points, but they're not a terribly wise place to shoot from.
Kudos to whoever designed the thing to be ever so slightly off to comfortably fire from every position in it.

Helicopters (Tank shooter helo pilot)

What can I say? I love helicopters. I love flying them, I love flying them at night. I love doing crazy maneuvers, and shooting machine guns and tank cannons from them.
I survived an inversion in a helo c:

Hot Fuzz (an FTL of some description)

Relatively uneventful, as far as things go. Crossing an open field armed with weapons that have about two meters of effective range was a bit nervewracking, especially since we could have just driven instead, but it worked out. Beyond that, it was a lot of town fighting, and a little bit of very scary vineyard fighting. But it's okay, it was all for the greater good.

Compound Interest (Autorifleman)

The Zafir is heavy as balls. But I got to run around with a pistol a lot, that was fun. Otherwise, this was also pretty uneventful, just your typical shootout with some filthy rebels.

RLM Part a number (Littlebird pilot)

This was a fun mission to fly for, lots of opportunities for quick extracts and inserts and close scouting passes. It's also nice to be useful as a pilot but to not have the entire mission hinge on your survival. I only almost crashed once, and I bet no one even noticed.

Cornered (AT MAN)

I should really do another mission in the vein of this one. Well, and also fix this one so hiding on the roof isn't OP. Maybe adding some staircases could be nice?

Oh, as for the actual mission, we decided to hide up on a hill for reasons. Went okay at first, but completely unpredictably, we were eventually overrun and forced to retreat. The two of us that were left hid in the barracks, killing Netkev at some point with wily tactics, but eventually we got shot. (Happy) Sad times.

Really nice session. I survived most of the time, which was...nice, unexpected, but nice.

Hot Fuzz
The word "civilian" has been used way to often as a replacement for "armed dangerous enemy".
I also have a remarkably low accuracy when startled by an enemy flanking us.
Here's a recording of the full mission:

Compound Interest
There's been shots, there's been smoke, there've been scopes and shado did weird things on a balcony.

RLM Part 4
I didn't have to move a lot as gunner on the Prowler and Kas has been a surprisingly good driver (read as: he didn't crash). I think he's playing in the wrong group.

Cornered
I think we were cornered or something? Also I got shot by a supposedly friendly AI after spawning for the first time.

RLM Part 2
I think I didn't see a single enemy, but I got shot by the gendarms.
