[Tue] 21 Nov 2017 (Running away to victory)

Post by Teifiterror »

Once again thank you very much to the 14 people that joined us today, without you we would not have been able to retreat with such dignity. Tonight saw a lot of people thinking on their feet, and while some of it didn't work out, other instances saw some success by glorious retreat.

Runlist:
  • Exodus [Co-op]
  • Operation Trojan [Co-op]
  • Georgetown Dragons [Co-op]
  • Operation Bluesword [Co-op]
  • Over the Hills and Far Away [Co-op]
  • Rocket League[Adv.]
Remember to check out our lovely audio-visual information registry over at this here place!

As well as that there is of course our good friend the R3 Mission Replay Sysetm, which knows if you've been bad or if you've been nice. The recordings themselves are really freaking neat-o and demonstrate just how easy it is not to see someone wearing camouflage.

There is also the permanently existent Leadership Programme which is just a fancy way of saying that if you want to, you can contact one of the hosts so we can enable one of your fun ideas. That is, as long as your idea of fun is leading a particular mission in a particular way.

And if you want to be recognizably folk-y and have the little tractor on your shoulder or on the side of your tank then you can sign up on the squad tag whotsit today! It's totally free! Probably!

Exodus
The one where MAT had six rockets but couldn't see the target.

Operation Trojan
The one where I found the Strider, and it found me.

Georgetown Dragons
The one where our vics advanced in perfect coordination with the infantry.

Operation Bluesword
The one where I was a fake medic.

Over the Hills and Far Away
The one where Shado exploded at the end.
FA missions & session host. Tank appreciater.

Exodus
Arguably should have set the MAT up on the road checkpoint rather than lookout. But really I think the error was in moving them as they ended up not being able to help either base and both bases being wiped out. Should have abandoned Checkpoint instead and gotten A1 to fall back to hotel maybe? Regardless it was nice to have a 100% survival rate on the command element, shame about the rest of the team...

Trojan
This in general went fine until we met the strider, which we weren't able to take out before it aggro'd and then my AT guy had connection issues. Proper tactics at this point should have been to back off into the quay and then loop back round the long way and ignore the Strider. Alas, I just stuck around and hoped A1 would bail me out. Oops

Georgetown
Overall think this went pretty well. Not sure what real different decisions could have been made here.Possibly better vehicle&FT sync, but that's really FTL's problem.

Bluesword
No real comments on this. It went fine. It definitely made things easier when the enemy infantry were too busy shooting at drones to notice me walking up to them and shooting them in the face.

Over The Hills
This went well as well, don't think we had any casualties at all (apart from Shado at the end). I'm quite happy with the 13 kills I ended up picking up through that, which is definitely on the upper side of what I normally do. (I'm shit at actually spotting anyone mostly).

Exodus [Co-op]
I angered the IFV. Angering IFVs is always a bad idea.

Operation Trojan [Co-op]
I mainly fought my technical difficulties, but the AI that replaced me emptied half a mag.

Georgetown Dragons [Co-op]
An HMG took out our FTL and AR. 30 seconds of FTLing on my part and our Prowler and gunner were gone.

Operation Bluesword [Co-op]
I felt betrayed when our FTL boarded the extraction helicopter and it immediately took off and flew away. I steared towards a no-fly zone, so maybe he was escorted to some extended leadership programme organized by the party.

Over the Hills and Far Away [Co-op]
We were looking for a lot of Quiches and eventually we found them.
