[Thu] 11 June 2020 (The Ghost of Fireteams Past)

Post by Costno »

A peak 14 professionals, drop of a hat, rock and rolled.

We started with a town clearing which ended up having a perfectly placed HMG along our axis of advance. Next, we conducted an amphibious assault which necessitated the use of the experimental water to land reinforcement system, which uh, needs some tweaking.... Third, we poked our heads up over a hill next to a NATO factory and were greeted by even more HMGs. To ease the pain some, we transitioned to flight in a few hellcats which almost worked out well until TH1 was forced to broken arrow our ground force and recover some data with help from a strange green man  . Finally, we made a desperate retreat off the hills of Malden, correctly resisted the urge to walk directly into the minefield, and snaked our way around some bunkers and fireteams to get at least a few survivors off that damned island.

Runlist: All players, and especially team leaders, are reminded that a new set of informational channels have been added to our Discord in the TTP_FA channel group. Read and learn, comrades.

You can review the missions we played tonight to improve your combat effectiveness score, using our R3 Mission Replay System. Remember, the Party is always watching! And so are your friends. From the grave. Where you put them. You monster.

If you would like to get some help with becoming an excellent leader :commissar: why not check out the Leadership Programme? This will let you get direct access to a host who will be happy* to guide you through commanding a mission, especially if you have a cruel and devious plan.

You may have noticed that some people have FA flags all over them. You may have thought "wow, what a cool guy! I want to be like them when I grow up!" Well, there's no need to grow up just yet. Instead, click on this link here and you too can have an FA flag of your own.

If you want a real FA flag all over your real body, click here to learn how to get a real FA t-shirt of your very own. Contributes to server operation as well as your Party status!

One last thing! If you would like to contribute to the server fund that allows FA to keep running sessions, you can PayPal your last grubby potato to server-fund@folkarps.com, or click here to use the Party's new and improved organ donation service.

Overall, I didn't make it to the end of the missions very often.

Saint Louis [Co-op]
First mission of the evening and already a pretty deadly one. I survived surprisingly long until we found ourself basically surrounded.

Roll Call [Co-op]
After a short stroll on the beach, we started to encounter bunkers and we lost Audiox for the first time. After getting shot near the first road I spectated most of the mission. Another Audiox-life later we tried to reinforce as Bravo and nearly made it on land.

Power to the People [Co-op]
Very scenic mission with a nice sunset over a power plant. Unfortunately, everything crashed when I tried to get my team back up :-(

Birdman [Co-op]
Crashes, lots of crashes on my side then I got shot.

Time to Get Away [After Party]
It's tagged as after party, I guess we played it semi-after party style? We got pretty far and 4 out of 7 even made it out.

Some scenic impressions from this session
