A powerful 20 individuals were quite happy to spend the evening on the east half of Altis.

We started near east central Altis, clearing out a small nest of CSAT and spending a few minutes trying to drag MAT into line of site of an IFV. Next we travelled to the northeast corner and swept through two more CSAT positions with Promets, IFVs, and an overwhelming counter-attack. After having it too easy when identifying our targets, we decided to take it to some special circumstances and raid a NATO installation as daring Spetsnaz operators. We lost a helicopter to hovering too low and too slow until a .50 cal quite easily took out its engine. Otherwise, with IFV support and a war criminal second helicopter, we smashed through NATO's defenses and several civilian's homes, climbed the tower and freed the hostages. Smashing! Finally we thought that a methodical approach was too much effort, so we drove some light strike vehicles and eventually a VTOL directly into an enemy compound and died.

Runlist:
  • Lost Sector: Charkia-Dorida [Co-op]
  • Glasgow Kiss [Co-op]
  • Installation 04 [Co-op]
  • Greyscaled Down [Co-op]
  • Rally: Lighthouse Connection [Afterparty]
  • Rally: Saints Loop [Afterparty]

Greyscaled Down

The following is an account of what happened.

The mission started as most do for special ops - A full moon, night vision goggles and something on the radio to get the guys pumped (that night it was The Archies - Sugar Sugar)

I opted for bravo lead. Its...technically leadership position, others have to die before you have a say in anything and it meant the mission could get underway.
Teffi took SL and I was glad. A hostage rescue mission like this requires the calm, deliberate cautious mind of someone like Teffi.
“Lets fuckin go lads its racing time” classic Teffi
After attempting to launch himself into literal space, 360 no scope, we rendezvous at the target area (50 people used to live here, now it is a ghost town) - most of us opting *not* to smash a wall down as suggested.
This, this is where the real folk arps Millsim-like professionalism really had time to shine.
“Stack up, breach and clear” bam bam bam. Just straight dropping bodies. Screams of terror quickly snuffed out with double taps to the torso and one for luck in the head. “user has left your channel, user has - user has - user has left your channel”
Yes, the enemy AI had us completely fucked.
Fortunately, we had a plan B which would correct the course of this absolute shit show. Plan B was “Broken arrow” The Blackfish ominously circling the AO was to rain an all-mighty hellstorm on top of this town (50 people used to live here, now it is a ghost town).
Teffi called in “broken arrow” with his dying breath and the pilots, with a sigh and heavy heart, did what they must - landed their multi-billion aircraft within 100m of the target area (50 people used to live here, now it is a ghost town) and pursued on foot to rescue someone, hundenial, I dunno.
After that, more shinans, the hostages were rescued or not and the pilots did some more non-piloting.
10/10 would rescue again
Professional Try-hard.
